California State Parks is in the process of classifying and preparing a General Plan for the Delta Meadows property, which includes the Locke Boarding House. This process will determine the park unit’s uses and create a plan for its management, development, and operation.
The Delta Meadows Park Property is located in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta near the communities of Walnut Grove and Locke, within State Parks’ Diablo Range District. The property includes approximately 500 acres including portions of Snodgrass Slough. It also includes the historic Locke Boarding House, located in nearby Locke. The Delta Meadows Park Property was acquired by State Parks over several years, beginning in 1985 and continuing through 1999, and the nearby Locke Boarding House was acquired in 2005. Delta Meadows is currently open to the public for hiking, fishing, and nature observation seven days a week. The Locke Boarding House is open to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays.
Help shape the future of the Delta Meadows property! Your insights and feedback are an important part of the Classification and General Plan process. Opportunities for you to participate will be posted on the Participate page.
